ABOUT LYI

Liberian Youth Initiatives is a non-profit making Organization that was founded by a group of professionals in October, 2012. It is duly registered and accredited by the Ministries of Youth and Sports and Planning and Economic Affairs to operate as a Non-Governmental Organization within the Republic of Liberia.
It seeks to incorporate youth residing in and around Monrovia, irrespective of Religious, Tribal and Political affiliation, social physical and Academic status, Race and Nationality that have come together for a common purpose of maximizing their potential and contributing their quota to the rebuilding process of our common denominator (Liberia).

The purposes of this organization is to educate/sensitize youth about development and empowerment; to create a platform for youth participation in National undertakings at all levels; to encourage and promote discussion and political dialogue aimed at bringing about credible constitutional governments; to campaign assiduously for the promotion, recognition and adherence to democratic principles and due process of law; to educate the population about their fundamental human rights, constitutional rights, HIV/AIDS education, civil/political rights and economic rights among others; to collaborate with government and other civil group in ensuring the guarantee and protection of fundamental Human freedoms, Youth participation, the rule of law and Human Rights; to undertake educational campaign (s) on electioneering and sensitize the youth population on the varieties; of Human Rights violations; to engage and develop community sanitation; to monitor national elections and electoral practices; to create a platform for youth resources in capacity building; to monitor, document and report on all Human Rights violations; to create awareness and sensitize the population of their civil responsibilities and duties; to remain law-abiding within the Republic  of Liberia, exploring all lawful avenues intended to bring free and fair  election; to carry on, do, conduct and perform all activities and functions that are lawful, permissible, singularly, jointly with others through merge, consolidation or otherwise; to do any and all other acts and activities and perform all functions which a pressure group may lawfully and legally do in and under the law of the Republic of Liberia;
